Day 23: A daily great sense of achievement

A great sense of accomplishment.

It's the pain and struggle that
makes the achievement feels greater.

There's a malay saying,

'susah sekarang, senang kemudian.'

which means; hard now, easy later.

everything pays off at the end of the effort.

every farmer will get the fruit.

after a hard day at shoot, all the shouting,
screaming, frustrating, coordinating,
finally it pays off.

a celebration of success.

every time, the magic word 'wrap' gives everyone joy.

even though they have heard it thousand times
in their production career, even if they have
lost the joy to shout 'yay! everytime the
assistant director says the magic word,
deep down inside a joy is in them. a relief.

i feel wonderful every time after a shoot.

(well, most of the time, if nothing fucksup,
and if I've gotten most of the shots that i wanted.)

well-still, a little joy no matter how.
a feeling of gladness that the 'battle' is over.

but the painful thing is, tomorrow's another battle.

unlike shooting commercials, you go through a
short span days of shoot, and it's over.
the intense are higher, but are all compressed
into that few days.
30seconds commercial = 2 days shoot.

as for television on the other hand,
it's like a slow-death.

shoots would go on for more than a week.
we have to shoot an average of 10 scenes a day.

1 episode per 2 days!

that's like 30 minutes compared to a
commercial of 30 seconds in 2 days.

sigh.

I See So Many Butterflies

i've only managed to spit out 2 pages
in-between of my shooting schedule
for the past 2 days.

and i got to go read a script now for tomorrow's shoot.

so, till then.

remember to celebrate every day's glory!
